My gas cooktop has a stain that will not come off or it is starting to rust?
The use of aerosol cans of insect spray, deodorants, repellents, stove cleaners, food preservatives etc... must be avoided in the proximity of the cooktop, when the cooktop is in operation. These propellents at normal temperatures are non corrosive, however when heated to approximately 200 degrees Celsius, the vapour that these chemicals give off will attack metals and are also extremely lethal. This could show up as staining or rusting of the metal parts on the cooktop.
